Veterinarian

Dr. Jessica Russell

Dr Jessica Russell was born in Salem, MA and grew up in Dallas, TX. She knew she wanted to work in the veterinary field at age 8 when she spent most of her time with her dogs, cats and horses. She was a veterinary technician for a year, which motivated her to go to college to pursue her degree in veterinary medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology and Zoology at Colorado State University and graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University in 2005. She has worked for a few animal hospitals in northern Colorado prior to joining the team at Pella Corner.

Dr. Russell immediately fell in love with Pella Corner. The clients, the staff and the wonderful town of Hygiene. When the opportunity to purchase the clinic presented itself, she jumped at the chance and in August of 2018 she became the sole owner of Pella Corner.

Dr. Russell’s strengths are client education and compassionate patient care. She is a member of AVMA and CVMA, and has special interest in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, pain management, and senior care. Dr. Russell enjoys spending time with her husband, Rob, and two daughters, Meghan and Allison. She also has several wonderful pets: Calvin and Fergie, an english mastiff and a newfoundland; and her two energetic young cats, Tucker and Cleo. Her hobbies include running, golfing and reading.

Kelly

Born and raised in the Midwest, her grandmother’s care and love of wild animals highly impacted Kelly’s decision to go into the veterinary field.  Having graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Colorado Mountain College in 1995, Kelly has worked at small animal clinics in various cities and states for 25 years, and even spent a few years as the practice manager of a couple small animal practices.

She and her husband have raised their children and now are empty nesters, enjoying life from a different perspective!  They love to travel, especially to warm, tropical places and scuba dive whenever possible!  They have dove in Hawaii, Cozumel, and Costa Rica, with plans to dive in many more places around the world.

Kelly loves to be outside – hiking, mountain biking, Jeeping, snowboarding, obstacle course racing.  If the sun is shining, she wants to be playing in it!
Kelly and her husband love Labs and Boxers, so they have one of each – Kailani, a 3yr old English Yellow Lab; and Captain, a 1 yr old Boxer; and can’t forget their daughter’s goldfish, Skippy, which they have apparently now inherited!

Lisa

Lisa and her husband Mike moved to Longmont in 2008.  Lisa graduated from Community College of Denver with an associate of applied Science with a goal of becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician.  After successfully completing that goal, Lisa immediately got a job at a Boulder Veterinary Hospital where she worked for 11 years, eventually becoming the Lead Technician.

Lisa and Mike took in her 18-month-old niece Mykayla, who needed a home.  She became a stay-at-home mom for a few years before for deciding to return to being a Veterinary Technician.  Her favorite thing about Vet medicine is working with amazing people and bringing compassion and skill to our patients! Along with Mykayla, Lisa has two stepchildren, Krystal and Tanner and a granddaughter Madilyn who is the same age as Mykayla. She has a dog named Hunter and two cats, Cassie, and Clyde.  List and her family love adventuring to Utah to see Krystal and her family and taking hikes with Tanner and his girlfriend and spending cuddly days in playing games as well!

In loving memory of Megan Davis

Megan passed away in June 2014 in an unfortunate accident. We had all known Megan personally and professionally for years and her loss is deeply felt here at Pella Corner. We hope to remember Megan through our work and our time with family, friends, and animals. For those who are interested, memorial contributions may be made to the Megan Davis Memorial Fund to be used for her son’s education and to help animals in need.

Megan graduated from Front Range Community College in 2005 with a degree in veterinary technology. She worked at a handful of local hospitals until she landed at Longs Peak Animal Hospital in 2007, where she met and worked with Dr. Cousins. After taking a short time off from working to start a family, she was very excited to be joining the “workforce” again as one of Dr. Cousins’ technicians. Megan shared quite a full house with her husband Mike, son Levi, two Labradors: Kody & Dozer, and her two cats, Sprout & Raja. In her spare time, Megan enjoyed outdoor activities with her family such as hiking, mountain biking, and camping in the summer and snowboarding, snowshoeing and sledding in the winter.
